He made the statement in his remarks during a virtual Eid al-Fitr gathering with Indonesian migrant workers in Singapore and 12 other countries, as quoted from the official statement from the Vice Presidential Secretariat Press Bureau, on Sunday.
The Vice President further said that the government continues to expand space for productive Indonesian workers to get decent jobs abroad.
Apart from the government's ongoing efforts, he said the current management of Indonesian migrant workers still faces problems related to such aspects as lack of skills and training, violation of worker placement regulations, and absence of protection for their families.
For this reason, efforts to keep improving the condition are needed by reviewing the placement and protection of the Indonesian migrant workers, he emphasized.
On that occasion, Amin also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the workers for their hard work and contributions.
"Migrant workers who work in foreign countries certainly face hurdles such as being separated from home and families, cultural differences and risks at work. This situation requires extraordinary determination and perseverance," he conveyed.
He also reminded all Indonesian citizen working abroad to always comply with regulations in countries wherever they live.
"Be wise in adapting and continuing to maintain Indonesia's good image," he said.
