Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati held a meeting with representatives of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration to discuss the synchronization of policies, including the 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN).
"The Finance Ministry is open to synchronizing and synergizing (with the next government), as we are tasked with preparing the 2025 RAPBN, which is a crucial instrument for the new government for implementing its programs," she remarked at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.
The state treasurer underscored the need for coordination and synchronization to ensure that the 2025 RAPBN accommodates new programs without neglecting the principles of caution, credibility, and trust.
She noted that the Finance Ministry had submitted a proposal for the 2025 Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF) document to the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday (May 28).
The minister remarked that her side would deliver its responses to insights conveyed by factions at the DPR before holding a related working meeting and summarizing all talks into a document that will be issued by President Joko Widodo in August.
"Since the process is intense and related to the management of the State Budget, we need to synchronize, communicate, and coordinate. We are the first institution visited (by the next government's representatives), given the urgency of placing the budget cycle as a priority," she stated.
Ahmad Muzani, deputy head of the next government's synchronization task force, noted that President-elect Prabowo Subianto had ordered his team to conduct synchronization with various ministries in a bid to prepare for a smooth transition of power.
"He (Prabowo) hopes for a smooth-running synchronization process, as he is expecting a swift transition of power, so that the next government can immediately act to implement the programs it offered during the election," he stated.
