Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta provincial government has prepared horse carriages, ontel bicycles, and traditional orchestra gambang keromong to enliven the 497th anniversary celebrations of Jakarta on June 22, 2024, at the National Monument, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta's assistant for development and environment and chairperson of the Jakarta City 497th Anniversary Commemoration Committee, Afan Adriansyah Idris, said here on Thursday that the activity would be held thanks to synergy among several parties.

The event will also feature the Pasukan Bala Krama Troops, Gita Puja Wiyata IPDN choir, colossal dance, and Color Guard, Idris informed.

Meanwhile, the ceremonial troops will come from various elements of society such as the military, the police, Jakarta civil servants, and student regiments, among others.

Idris said that his side will also prepare an entertainment stage and invite prominent Jakarta figures such as Alya Rohali, Maudy Koesnadi, Valerina Daniel, Funky Monkey Band, Wulan Alora KDI, and Dnada Idol to the event.

He invited the public to participate in enlivening Jakarta's 497th anniversary while maintaining order and security.

"We invite Jakarta residents to enliven the commemoration of the 497th anniversary of Jakarta with joyful hearts and joys. Let's keep order and security for everyone's comfort. Hopefully, the city of Jakarta will be more advanced and become global," Idris said.

People who wish to participate in the ceremony can register on the https://www.jakarta.go.id/jakarta497-upacara webpage. The last day of registration is June 16.

Participants will be required to hold Jakarta ID cards and maintain order and security during the event. They will not be allowed to bring toddlers.

Participants can choose to wear traditional Betawi clothing to the event, such as Abang Jampang, Busana Abang Jakarta, Busana None Jakarta, Batik Betawi, Baju Sadariah, and Baju Encim.
