The cooperation is established to increase national exports and expand market access for MSMEs in Indonesia.
"The MoU signing is expected to increase the participation of MSMEs that are upgraded, globally competitive, and export-oriented through the WikiExport program," Chairman of Kadin Arsjad Rasjid noted in a statement here on Friday.
The WikiExport program was developed by Kadin in 2022 along with the Inclusive Partnership Movement.
In collaboration with JETRO, the WikiExport initiative is an effort to mentor and boost the capacity of MSMEs, such as by opening greater access for them to the global market.
Meanwhile, WikiExport is also a Business 20 (B20) legacy program that aims to bridge the gap between Indonesian MSMEs and Japanese companies looking for Indonesian products.

"The role and contribution of MSMEs is very important to achieve the national economic growth target of eight percent. The growth of export-oriented MSMEs also strengthens the national economy foundations," Rasjid remarked.
In addition, he explained that wider market access for MSMEs will increase the value of exports. Hence, intensifying collaboration and investment for the capacity-building of small businesses is deemed important, considering that they are part of the supply chain.
Rasjid assessed that the MoU signing between Kadin and JETRO is the basis for long-term mutually beneficial cooperation between the markets of both nations as well as supporting both Indonesian and Japanese companies.
The MoU signing took place between Rasjid and JETRO Chairman Ishiguro Norihiko.
The MoU covers cooperation in the development of materials and certified training for export trade, the 24-hour information and service channel for MSMEs, and collaboration in research and development related to business networking and business matching, among others.
