Mataram, NTB (ANTARA) - Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Minister Abdul Halim Iskandar called for collaboration between villages and relevant parties in marketing appropriate technology to ensure such innovations continue.

"Thus, collaboration is needed not only in the production ecosystem, but also in the marketing ecosystem of appropriate technology," he said at the 25th Nusantara Appropriate Technology Exhibition in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Monday.

He further said that the parties who need to collaborate with villages in expanding the marketing of appropriate technology are regional governments and journalists.

Regional governments, he expounded, can market such technology through the government's e-Catalog.

"That way, it would be easier to be bought officially by regional governments, governments of other villages, and local business players," he said.

Journalists can expand the marketing of technology by spreading news about the profile of investors and the benefits of the appropriate technology for villages, he added.

On the same occasion, the acting governor of NTB, Hassanudin, expressed gratitude to the central government for appointing NTB as the host of the 25th Nusantara Appropriate Technology Exhibition.

He noted that in NTB, the development of appropriate technology has resulted in various benefits, such as providing practical solutions for people in facing daily problems and improving the local economy.

"The appropriate technology in NTB includes the implementation of agricultural technology, processing of livestock products, innovation in waste processing, food processing, and the development of renewable energy," he informed.

The Nusantara Appropriate Technology Exhibition is an effort made by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration to boost innovations and technologies created in villages, which are expected to help accelerate village progress.
