"There will be continuity in many fields within the ILASP program. The next president will also prioritize urban and spatial planning,” said Yudhoyono, who is also head of the National Land Agency, referring to President-elect Prabowo Subianto, here on Friday.
It is necessary to continue the cooperation between the ministry and the World Bank considering that the two have succeeded in making significant land administration achievements in Indonesia, he added.
He praised the World Bank for its support in accelerating the agrarian reform program, particularly in land administration.
“Thanks to this support, participatory mapping through PTSL has achieved significant progress,” said Yudhoyono, referring to the Complete Systematic Land Registration program.
According to the minister, a total of 8.8 million lots of land have been administered through PTSL against the target of 7 million lots.
Through the cooperation, the ILASP program is expected to run well, including Detailed Spatial Planning (RDTR), which can increase investment and economic growth in Indonesia, he said.
"We will improve our communication to achieve a more advanced and detailed spatial planning, to increase certainty for investors," he noted.
Minister Yudhoyono met with officials from the World Bank to discuss a cooperation plan to make the ILASP program a success.
World Bank country director for Indonesia, Carolyn Turk, welcomed the cooperation plan for the ILASP program.
The loan negotiation for the program is still being discussed with the Finance Ministry, she said.
She noted that it was a good opportunity for the next five years and expressed hope that ILASP would become even more successful due to the leadership and collaboration between the ministry and the World Bank, given the team's strong support for future projects.
