Muzani, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), said that MSMEs can absorb a large number of new workers.
"MSMEs are generally an economy that grows in the middle of our society. They have a home-based and small economic (footprint), and all of that must be mobilized," he added at the parliament complex here on Tuesday.
According to him, MSMEs can also serve as a buffer for national economic growth.
Therefore, the Gerindra Party faction at the House of Representatives (DPR) held an MSME bazaar on Tuesday at the Nusantara II Building in the parliament complex. The event coincided with the International Day of Democracy.
Muzani launched the bazaar, which was attended by MSME players mentored by Gerindra Party as well as other flagship MSMEs.
"This MSME bazaar involved top MSMEs and those managed by the Gerindra Party cadres," he noted.
He said that the bazaar was organized as part of efforts to directly support and advance MSMEs.
"We hope that this event will benefit sales, management, and marketing for those who participate today," he added.
On a separate occasion, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that the e-katalog, an online shopping system for the government, could catalyze MSME growth under the incoming government.
He informed that he has coordinated with stakeholders to ensure that the e-katalog can continue to run and benefit the community.
