PSSI chair Erick Thohir said that the Netherlands' consistent achievements and structured coaching for all age groups were the basis for collaboration between the two federations, which have enjoyed a long-standing relationship.
"This is a continuation of our meeting last May. We agreed to develop a stronger relationship for mutual benefit, promotion development, and sustainable football success in each country," he added while receiving three KNVB representatives on Wednesday, according to an official statement from PSSI.
Thohir informed that the KNVB is ready to help and provide assistance to PSSI.
During a visit by KNVB representatives, including secretary general Gijs de Jong; head of international program and world coaches, Michael van der Star; and head of sales, new partnerships, Ruud van der Sar, a memorandum of understanding was also signed to promote football at various international levels, he added.
One of the goals of the cooperation is to improve the quality and experience of Indonesian national teams of all age groups, both men and women, he said.
Thohir further said he is optimistic that through the collaboration, many talented players will emerge in the future.
"This partnership is also targeted to improve the quality and experience of the Indonesian national team in all age groups, both men and women," he disclosed.
It is hoped that with the focus on improving young players' quality, the performance of Indonesia's future talents will improve, he said.
Furthermore, the collaboration between PSSI and KNVB will routinely bring the national teams of the two countries together for friendly matches.
According to him, this new chapter of cooperation will also focus on various development projects, including the education of Indonesian football coaches.
