The general manager of Lombok Airport, Barata Singgih Riwahono, stated that all MotoGP logistics had arrived on Wednesday evening (September 25).
"The entire process of unloading the cargo transported using five special cargo flights went well and smoothly," he noted in a statement from his office on Thursday.
The MotoGP logistics were transported in stages from September 24 to 25 to Lombok Airport. The shipments departed from Doha, Qatar, aboard Qatar Airways Boeing 777-300F aircraft.
On Tuesday (September 24), two cargo planes arrived, namely Qatar Airways flight number QR8588, with 80 tons of logistics, and Qatar Airways flight number QR8342, carrying 90 tons of MotoGP cargo.
On the next day, three planes landed, namely Qatar Airways flight number QR8348, carrying 77 tons of cargo; QR8898, with 80 tons of cargo; and QR8844, carrying 49 tons of cargo.
"A total of 377 tons of MotoGP cargo arrived in Lombok," Riwahono remarked.
After being unloaded from the aircraft, the cargo in the form of racing equipment, including the 2024 MotoGP safety car, was transported aboard cargo trucks to the Mandalika Circuit.
"The entire process of this cargo handling went well due to the support and cooperation of all parties involved. Furthermore, we are preparing for the departure process of the 2024 MotoGP cargo from Lombok to Narita, Japan, from September 30 to October 1, 2024," he said.
The 2024 MotoGP Mandalika series will be held on September 27-29 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Mandalika, Central Lombok District, NTB.
