In a release on Monday, head of the Attorney General's Office's Legal Information Center, Harli Siregar, said that investigators questioned the director, PA, over alleged corruption and money laundering activities involving PT Duta Palma Group's palm oil plantation business in Indragiri Hulu district of Sumatra's Riau province.
The investigators also interrogated three other individuals: NN, the HRD manager of PT Menara Capital Indonusa; MS, a driver; and NP, an office boy at Palma Tower.
Earlier, on October 3, 2024, investigators had questioned two witnesses linked to the same case: TTG, the president director of PT Darmex Plantations, and MY, a private party.
Harli said that the witnesses were interviewed to gather evidence and strengthen the case against the corporate suspects: PT Palma Satu, PT Siberida Subur, PT Banyu Bening Utama, PT Panca Agro Lestari, PT Kencana Amal Tani, PT Asset Pacific, and PT Darmex Plantations.
PT Asset Pacific is a subsidiary of PT Duta Palma Group, a company owned by Surya Darmadi, who has been convicted of corruption related to palm oil land in Indragiri Hulu district.
During the investigation of PT Asset Pacific, the Attorney General's Office seized evidence, including cash totaling Rp450 billion and Rp372 billion, or around US$52.2 million.
