"The Naker Fest in Pangkalpinang City is the first of its kind the Manpower Ministry organizes outside the capital city of Jakarta," he remarked during the festival's opening ceremony in Pangkalpinang on Thursday.
Sanusi underlined that the Naker Fest is an excellent initiative of the central government, as it features a job fair and offers an opportunity for people to exchange information related to the manpower sector, including vocational training.
He remarked that the festival offers services related to the Job Seeker Card, job counseling, industrial relations as well as information on the placement of workers overseas, and social security for workers.
"The Naker Fakest presents a complete package of job opportunities, meaning people can not only seek job vacancies but also acquire other information related to the manpower sector," he pointed out.
He is optimistic that the event would provide solutions to the Bangka Belitung and Pangkalpinang governments to reduce unemployment rates and drive regional economic growth.
Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Pangkalpinang Budi Utama praised the secretary-general for his willingness to assist local job seekers by launching the festival firsthand.
"This (festival) serves as a great opportunity for job seekers. Hopefully, people will get the most out of this two-day Naker Fest," he remarked.
In Jakarta, the Naker Fest 2024 was inaugurated by then-manpower minister Ida Fauziyah on August 23.
During the inauguration attended by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, she noted that the festival was meant to be a strategic initiative expected to bring about major improvements in managing Indonesia's labor market.
