"We hope women's representation in the cabinet can reach 30 percent," Wiyogo stated at the pre-congress event of Kowani here on Thursday.
According to the Kowani chairperson, women representatives in the upcoming government cabinet are expected to carry out their mandate professionally. In addition, cooperation with women's organizations in the health, social, education, economic, and political sectors should be intensified.
"Collaboration with many parties is needed in facing various issues of women and children that are increasing, especially related to violence, which had been on the rise these days," she remarked.
In addition, it is deemed essential for women to play a key role in the government.

On a separate occasion, Titi Anggraini, a law expert from the University of Indonesia, stated that women's representation in the upcoming cabinet is projected to be far from 30 percent.
"From the names of people that were summoned and projected to become ministers and deputy ministers, it can be seen that the number (of women's representatives) is very low, not even 20 percent," she stated here on Thursday.
According to Anggraini, ideally, women's representation increases from one government term to another.
She expressed hope that this issue would not indicate that women's representation is not given importance in the new government.
Furthermore, Anggraini assessed that the declining number of women taking up government strategic positions could give a wrong impression of political education that governance without the involvement of women in strategic positions is normal.
Prabowo has summoned several women figures, including incumbent cabinet Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and politician Meutya Hafid, who are projected to join his cabinet.
