The aircraft crashed en-route Djalaluddin Airport in Gorontalo District to Pohuwato Airport in Pohuwato District, west of Gorontalo.Gorontalo (ANTARA) - A DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft belonging to SAM Air crashed near the airport in Pohuwato District, Gorontalo, Sunday morning, and all of its occupants were confirmed to be killed.
In response to the plane crash, Gorontalo Acting Governor Rudy Salahuddin expressed his utmost condolences to the families and relatives of the victims.
"The Gorontalo provincial authority mourns the plane crash near Pohuwato Airport that killed four people. We are with the families of the victims at this time of grief," Salahuddin stated on Sunday.

The DHC-6 plane bearing registration code PK-SMH took off from Gorontalo District at 7:03 a.m. local time (UTC +8) and was expected to arrive at 7:33 a.m.
However, the air traffic controller lost contact with the aircraft at 7:22 a.m., and it missed the expected time of arrival.
The aircraft wreckage was found several hours later at a swamp near runway 27 of Pohuwato Airport. A total loss, the plane was found destroyed with its front part burned and its wings clipped.
The crash caused the death of all its four occupants, comprised of pilot M. Saefurubi, first officer M. Arthur V.G., flight engineer Budijanto, and a passenger, Sri Meyke Male.
The victims were evacuated to Motolohu public health centre in Pohuwato and their coffins were later transported to the province capital to be handed over to their families. The three crews will be flown to Jakarta and Balikpapan on Monday (October 21).
