Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono stated that President Prabowo Subianto had given a directive to focus on building legislative and judicial centers in the Nusantara capital city (IKN).

Yudhoyono remarked in Jakarta on Wednesday that progress in the development of executive buildings in Nusantara is already visible, as reflected in the State Palace recently inaugurated by 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Moreover, significant progress had been made in the development of the Garuda Palace and several ministerial offices, including buildings of coordinating ministries.

“Thus, the parliament building must also be ready, including for judicial institutions,” he remarked.

He echoed President Prabowo's commitment to continuing the development of the new capital located on Kalimantan Island, with a timeline that continues to be adjusted.

Apart from IKN, Yudhoyono highlighted other projects requiring attention, such as national strategic projects in various regions for food security, energy security, and human resources quality development as well as poverty alleviation.

The minister assessed that adjustments must be made in the development of Nusantara and inputs from all parties and stakeholders would be incorporated.

“Once again, the emphasis from the president is to ensure that development is efficient,” he remarked.

The continued development of the new capital is part of the 17 priority programs of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The two are striving to realize more balanced national development by creating new growth centers outside Java island, one of which is through the development of Nusantara.
