Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli emphasized the government's commitment to being receptive to input from labor unions to bring about improvements in the employment sector.

He stated that the Manpower Ministry is open to constructive criticism and suggestions.

"All the achievements we have made are the result of collaboration between the Manpower Ministry, workers, business actors, and all relevant stakeholders," he said.

Yassierli made these remarks during a national meeting with labor union leaders on Wednesday, according to a statement from the ministry on Thursday.

He highlighted the critical role of unions in fostering harmonious industrial relations that are mutually beneficial for both workers and employers.

He expressed confidence that labor unions have the potential to establish dynamic and fair industrial relations, aimed at improving workers' productivity and welfare.

"It is essential that we make every effort to prevent conflicts in industrial relations. Therefore, we must continue to strive for mutually beneficial partnerships between workers and business actors," he said, emphasizing that communication is key to preventing industrial disputes.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan stressed the importance of collaboration both within and outside the ministry.

"All officials at the Manpower Ministry are determined to work together internally and externally to ensure the sustainability of workers' welfare," he remarked.

The national meeting brought together the ministry and 87 workers representing 19 labor confederations, 16 labor federations, and two unions of online motorbike taxi drivers.

Yassierli and Gerungan were inaugurated as members of the Red and White Cabinet, led by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, on October 21.

The following day, Yassierli told reporters that he will focus on determining provincial minimum wages for 2025 during his first 100 days in office.

He emphasized that the determination of regional wages is crucial to achieving the government's primary goal of improving people's welfare, as mandated by President Prabowo.
