"We provide assistance and collaborate with various institutions for the MSME Level Up program. There are also workshop programs and one-on-one business coaching to strengthen MSMEs' business plans," said Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria in a press release received on Sunday.
The government continues to encourage MSMEs to adopt digital technology to help boost the national economy and enhance their global competitiveness.
According to Patria, MSME players can utilize digital technology to increase their efficiency and productivity.
"Digitalization is not merely about technology; it also involves creating an ecosystem that supports the growth of MSMEs. Through these initiatives, we hope Indonesia's MSMEs can compete globally and contribute more significantly to the national economy," he remarked.
Currently, there are 67 million MSME players in Indonesia, providing jobs to 97 percent of the workforce and contributing up to 61 percent of the country's GDP.
Patria expressed support for the "3 Go" strategic steps for MSME digitalization initiated by state-owned enterprises (SOEs) through the SOEs Creative House program, which includes Go Modern, Go Digital, and Go Online.
The Go Modern initiative focuses on modernizing MSME activities, while the Go Digital step emphasizes the use of digital applications and business process automation.
Meanwhile, the Go Online initiative aims to maximize digital technology, such as social media advertising and the use of digital marketplaces.
He underscored that the adoption of digital technology by MSMEs would expand their reach to the global market.
"It can be beneficial, increasing market coverage to be borderless," he said.
