Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Immigration Division of the Jakarta Office of the Law and Human Rights Ministry ensured strengthening supervision of foreigners despite the presence of the Golden Visa and Bridging Visa that facilitate their stay in Indonesia.

“We continue supervision starting from during their arrivals at the airport to processing stay permits,” Head of the Immigration Division Wahyu Eka Putra remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.

Putra admitted that the two visa programs enabled foreigners to have a longer stay permit in Indonesia.

“We are providing services in line with supervision through intelligence officers, related partners, and the community," Putra remarked.

He said that the office's efforts are reflected by the disclosure of cases of stay permit violations carried out in several Jakarta Immigration Offices which are still running well.

"We also involve local governments and other agencies through the Foreigner Supervision Team and the community so that there are no stay permit violations," he remarked.

Golden Visa targets investors, enabling them to have a residence permit in Indonesia for five to 10 years to support the national economy.

Earlier, the Class I Immigration Office of North Jakarta arrested 12 foreign nationals from Nigeria suspected of violating their stay permits by overstaying and committing fraud in the local area.

“We arrested 12 Nigerian nationals, namely EHO, MIU, ACN, CKO, NKC, GU, KC, GN, SE, UMC, CM, and ACD,” the office’s Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Widya Anusa Brata stated in Jakarta on October 16, 2024.

Brata noted that those foreigners were arrested at an apartment in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta.
