Solo (ANTARA) - The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) - Trade Promotion office of the Italian Embassy - with the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT) introduced the advance textile technology to textile industry players in Indonesia.

"Italian textile technology offers digital and automation solutions that can increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact," Trade Commissioner of ITA Dr. Paolo Pinto stated here on Tuesday (Nov 12).

Pinto explained that the promotion of Italian technology through workshops held in Solo on November 12 and in Bandung on November 14 aimed to provide an opportunity for industry players in Indonesia to directly experience this technology's benefits.

During this workshops, 17 Italian textile manufacturers present to promote their advanced technologies with various specializations in the textile sector, including in finishing, dyeing, non-woven, spinning, weaving, knitting, and textile lab.

The 1st Vice Chairman of Regional Representative Bodies of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) for Central Java, Liliek Setiawan, stated that the workshop not only facilitated B2B meetings for technology transfer but also opened up opportunities for strategic collaboration that could respond to challenges of the textile industry in the future.

"This technology not only speeds up the production process but also provides opportunities for textile companies to stay relevant in a global market that increasingly prioritizes sustainability," he remarked.

With a shared vision to create a better future for the textile industry, Setiawan also expressed hope that the activity would serve as a momentum to raise the standards of the Indonesian textile industry to a more modern and internationally competitive level.

"We really hope that this technology can contribute positively to the growth of the textile industry in Indonesia," ACIMIT President Dr. Marco Salvade stated.

"This workshop is not just a technology presentation but also an open invitation to learn from each other and collaborate in creating a better textile industry for the future," he added.

With textile technology from Italy, the workshop is expected to serve as a forum for textile industry players in Central Java to obtain the latest information on digitalization, the Internet of Things (IoT), and sustainable solutions.

He remarked that these technologies can increase the local textile industry's productivity and help preserve the environment.
