"The Wantannas has carried out a review of the 2025 national strategic issue prediction that covers aspects of human life," he said during a hearing meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the parliament complex here on Thursday.
The issues will include the influence of foreign ideologies, radicalism and extremism, a crisis of trust in Pancasila, social polarization, and a lack of understanding of Pancasila, he added.
The issues emerging in the political field will pertain to Jakarta after the national capital relocation to Nusantara capital city (IKN) in East Kalimantan, the new autonomous regions, and the impact of the 2024 general election, among others, he informed.
In the economic sector, he listed issues related to the digital economy, the tourism industry, fiscal policy, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
He also covered food and energy security, maritime economy, and coastal area management.
Wantannas also warned about issues surrounding terrorism financing, cyber warfare and digital security, lack of defense equipment, and maritime security.
It also put the spotlight on the issues of climate change, forest destruction, river and lake pollution, clean water supply, infrastructure and development inequality, and the declining quality of soil.
Hutabarat said that the council has also predicted national issues related to demographics, such as high population growth, unbalanced population density, high urbanization, unemployment and lack of skills, and social and educational gaps.
"Meanwhile, regarding natural resources, (Wantannas predicts issues will be faced regarding) illegal forest logging, forest burning, overfishing and illegal fishing, illegal gold mining, land use diversion, and damage to ocean ecosystems," he explained.
