"It is about how the message can be received by the community. It does not matter whether it is done by the government or private parties," the ministry's Director General of Public Information and Communication, Prabu Revolusi, remarked.
He made the statement on the sidelines of the 2024 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, on Thursday.
According to Revolusi, content created by influencers is more effective and can resonate better with the community.
Revolusi noted that in today's modern communication, the government cannot approach the public with formal methods.
He believed the messages delivered by influencers with attractive packaging could draw the public's attention.

"Thus, we need to make the message softer through influencers to communicate with the public, and we, the government, serve as mediators or facilitators to ensure such communication can occur," he explained.
He noted that last week, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs gathered influencers to create content about the provision of free meals from the government to the community. The government is currently promoting an anti-online gambling campaign by involving influencers.
"What we need to ensure is that the message can be received by the community, and we can see the changes in behavior," he remarked.
The WPRF, held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on November 19-22, involves 1,400 participants from 22 countries, including Indonesia.
The theme raised in this year's edition is "Purposeful Influence for the Common Good" as a response to challenges and opportunities in the global public relations world.
