Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto landed in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, the final stop on his multi-nation tour, at 8:40 a.m. local time on Saturday.

Upon his arrival from London, the United Kingdom, the President was welcomed by UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Mohamed Mazrouei; UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri; and Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE, Husin Bagis; among others.

According to a statement received from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, four jets belonging to the UAE Air Force approached Prabowo's aircraft and escorted it as it entered the airspace of the Gulf state.

After landing, the head of state and his entourage proceeded to a local hotel.

During his Abu Dhabi visit, President Prabowo is scheduled to pay a courtesy call to the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Earlier, on the sidelines of his visit to London, the Indonesian President said that he would discuss several topics with the UAE.

"Of course, we will touch upon a lot of things, as the two countries have been very close," he told the media on Thursday.

In London, he met with several British top figures, including King Charles III, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.

Further, the President secured investment commitments worth US$8.5 billion from British companies during the CEO Roundtable Forum.

He took off from the UK via Stansted Airport, London, at 9:25 p.m. local time on Friday.

The President is scheduled to arrive back in Jakarta by Sunday (November 24, 2024).
