Earlier, head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, said that the government will shift base to IKN Nusantara once the new capital is ready to carry out its role as a political capital, which is expected in 2028.
"The President has said that the government's move to the IKN will be carried out after IKN can function as a political capital, which means there are executive, legislative, and judiciary offices," Nasbi told reporters.
He made the statement in response to a question regarding the certainty of when President Prabowo Subianto will move to and take office at IKN Nusantara.
Earlier, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo said that President Prabowo is aiming to start working from IKN Nusantara from August 17, 2028.
"The target is that Mr. Prabowo will hold office there on August 17, 2028, or no later than August 17, 2029, with the executive, legislative, judiciary offices and all the supporting civil servants," Hanggodo informed on December 6, 2024.
