The meeting reflected their commitment to strengthening the two countries' existing relations.
"Thank you for this meeting. I have always wanted to meet you. The good relationship between Indonesia and Pakistan continues to exist. We should improve our relationship, and I hope we get to work together," Prabowo told Sharif.
In his remarks to his Pakistani counterpart, Prabowo said he would improve the relations between both nations that have existed historically.
Sharif also said he was honoured to meet with Prabowo and extended congratulations on the close friendship that has been established.
"I would like to congratulate you on our close friendship. The history of our relationship upholds brotherhood and friendship. Our hearts go out to you," the prime minister stated.
In a press statement after the meeting, Prabowo said they discussed several important agendas related to relations between Indonesia and Pakistan.
"We discussed the possibility of cooperation and increasing cooperation in the economic and trade sectors," he stated.

Prabowo then highlighted other efforts by Indonesia to build strong cooperative relations, including meeting with members of the Developing Eight (D-8) in the Summit.
"Tomorrow, we will meet with other members of the D-8. This is our effort to continue building relations to seek opportunities in uncertain conditions in order to strengthen our economy," he remarked.
Prabowo stated that Indonesia is focusing on strengthening economic cooperation between D-8 member countries for the welfare of the people.
"We are discussing all possibilities for cooperation. Now, our focus is on strengthening our respective economies for the welfare of our people," he remarked.
The D-8 is a group of eight developing countries comprising Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey.
The group was established in 1997 to foster economic cooperation and advance development among member countries.
