The figure indicates a 0.58 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, said Mardyana Listyowati, Director General of National Exports Development at the Trade Ministry, during a media briefing on Friday.
The ministry recorded that the total trade value of halal products increased by 10.99 percent from 2019 to 2023, while the trade balance for Indonesian halal products during the same period rose by 10.86 percent.
Listyowati noted that Indonesia achieved its highest halal trade balance in 2022, valued at US$47.7 billion.
The ministry also recorded the total export of halal products in the January-October 2024 period at US$41.4 billion.
However, Listyowati noted that the figure showed a decrease from US$42.3 billion in the same period last year.
Countries prioritized for Indonesian-made halal product exports from January to October included the United States (US$7.29 billion), China (US$6.17 billion), Pakistan (US$2.05 billion), and Malaysia (US$1.71 billion).
Halal product exports during the period were dominated by halal food and beverages (81.16 percent), followed by modest fashion (16.48 percent), pharmaceuticals (1.48 percent), and cosmetics (0.88 percent).
Listyowati affirmed that the ministry would persevere with its strategies to bolster the export of Indonesia-made halal products, including by optimizing 44 trade representatives overseas to promote halal products and involving local halal entrepreneurs in trade expos overseas.
"We will facilitate business matching between entrepreneurs and overseas buyers," she added.
