In a ministry statement released on Sunday, Suntana stated that his team visited monitoring posts established at several transportation hubs, including the airport and ferry port, for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year period.
These monitoring posts were set up at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Lombok International Airport, the Mandalika Type A Terminal, and Lembar Port, a crucial crossing point connecting Lombok and Bali.
"Our visit to Lombok aimed to ensure the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday season," Suntana stated.
During his inspection of the monitoring post at the Mandalika Type A Terminal, Suntana assessed the progress of the ongoing terminal revitalization project and commended the improvements made in service quality.
The terminal plays a vital role in facilitating the mobility of the public.
"Despite the ongoing revitalization work, we are confident that the Mandalika Type A Terminal is adequately prepared to serve the public during this Christmas and New Year period. Passenger comfort and safety remain our top priorities," he affirmed.
Furthermore, Suntana reviewed the readiness of the Lembar ASDP Ferry crossing port, recognizing its critical role in supporting public travel.
"We continue to collaborate with operators to ensure timely departures and maintain the safety and security of all passengers," he added.
His team also emphasized the importance of proactive measures, such as strengthening operational oversight and enhancing service quality in the field, to effectively manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic
