Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) continues the ethics violation trial against police officers implicated in alleged extortion against Malaysian nationals at the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP).

"Yes, it is in the continuation process from yesterday. Let us hope that everything will be completed," Head of Public Relations of Polri Inspector General of Police Sandi Nugroho stated in Jakarta, Thursday.

Meanwhile, a member of the National Police Commission, Choirul Anam, remarked that today, the trial panel of the National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) tried three police officers.

One of those facing trial is Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Jakarta Police, AKBP Malvino Edward Yusticia, Anam stated.

"There was the head of sub-directorate, then there were two more from the same unit," he revealed.

Yusticia had undergone a trial on December 31, 2024. However, because it lasted until January 1, 2025, early morning, the trial was suspended and continued today.

Anam remarked that until today, two personnel given a dishonorable discharge (PTDH) or removal were the Director of Drug Investigation of the Jakarta Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak, and one unit head.

"They are appealing the (decision, ed.)," he remarked.

Earlier, Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Police, Brigadier General Police Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the National Police Professional and Security Division (Propam) began holding an ethics violation trial on December 31, 2024.

The trial will be conducted simultaneously and continuously due to the arrest of 18 police officers linked to the alleged extortion case involving several Malaysian citizens.

The dozens of police officers involved comprised personnel from the Jakarta Regional Police, Central Jakarta Police, and Kemayoran Police.
