"We need nutritious food for individuals who are malnourished," he stated on Monday in response to inquiries about the ministry's role in the government's Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
As part of this program, the Health Ministry has partnered with BGN to establish nutritional standards.
Sadikin expressed hope that this collaboration would enhance nutritional access and improve public health.
On Monday, several ministers observed the first day of MBG implementation in Greater Jakarta and the West Java cities of Karawang and Bandung.
MBG is a priority program of the government, with 190 public kitchens spread across 26 provinces.
Each public kitchen collaborates with a nutritionist and an accountant to ensure strict supervision of nutritional quality and smooth food distribution.
In addition to ensuring adequate nutrition in each meal prepared, public kitchens are responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards and managing nutritional quality and waste.
