"We have reported to the related minister, and everything is running smoothly," the minister stated in Jakarta on Thursday.
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning highlighted 864,662 hectares of potential land available to support food security, transmigration, and public housing programs.
He explained that out of the 864,662 hectares of land, 10 thousand hectares were additional land acquired from the conversion of land with cultivation rights to land with building rights.
Wahid highlighted that 77,297 hectares of land, along with the additional 10 thousand hectares of converted land, had been allocated for housing development.
This is aimed at ensuring the smooth running of the government's program to develop 3 million houses.
Furthermore, from the 864,662 hectares of land, 209,780 hectares have been allocated to support the national food security program.
This step is expected to ensure the availability of sufficient agricultural land to reduce dependence on food imports.
In addition, 567,585 hectares of land have been allocated for the transmigration program.
Wahid stated that the allocated land would be handed over to the Ministry of Transmigration to support the relocation of residents to new areas, create centers of economic growth outside Java, and reduce population pressure in densely populated areas.
These steps reflected the government's efforts to optimize unproductive land to support the national priority agenda.
The minister emphasized that synergy between relevant ministries is key to ensuring the success of land allocation.
The availability of land is essential to support the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto, such as achieving food self-sufficiency, ensuring the development of quality housing, and economic equality.
