Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto met with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Financial Secretary Paul Chan to discuss cooperation in developing supply chain services.

"As one of the largest financial services providers in Asia, Hong Kong sees significant potential for cooperation with Indonesia, especially in the financial sector," Hartarto noted in a statement from his office on Thursday.

At the meeting on Wednesday, the minister welcomed the investment plan and financing cooperation offered by Hong Kong to build supply chain facilities and other infrastructure projects.

Hartarto also encouraged Hong Kong business actors to explore diverse investment opportunities within Indonesia.

"Indonesia provides various fiscal incentives, such as tax holidays, tax allowances, investment allowances, and super deduction taxes. Those facilities allow business entities from Indonesia and Hong Kong to access wider markets and increase business efficiency," the minister highlighted.

At the meeting, Chan also expressed that Hong Kong could be a potential partner in the development of supply chains within Indonesia.

"Indonesia has a conducive business environment and a large youth demographic. Those two can be the main factors in strengthening investment cooperation," Chan remarked.

At the conclusion of their discussions, Hartarto outlined several other potential areas for cooperation for Hong Kong investors to explore, such as renewable energy and other green sectors.

He also presented various promising cooperation opportunities with significant growth potential, including special economic zones (SEZs), focusing on industry, tourism, manufacturing, and digital sectors.
