To date, PTDI has successfully managed several orders for TNI's defense equipment, including the CN235-220 military transport aircraft (serial number N71) for the Indonesian Navy and the NC212i aircraft for the Indonesian Air Force.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin urged state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) to accelerate the work on several main weapons systems (alutsista) ordered by the ministry for the National Armed Forces (TNI).
“The minister would try to push for the effective acceleration of contracts of PTDI and asked whether we are ready to carry out the contracts, both in terms of human resources and systems,” the company’s president director, Gita Amperiawan, noted in a statement on Thursday.
After visiting the company’s headquarters in Bandung, West Java, Minister Sjamsoeddin emphasized that PTDI would swiftly complete the development of the main weapon systems in accordance with the agreed contract.
To date, PTDI has successfully managed several orders for TNI's defense equipment, including the CN235-220 military transport aircraft (serial number N71) for the Indonesian Navy and the NC212i aircraft for the Indonesian Air Force.
During his visit to the company, Defense Minister Sjamsoeddin had the opportunity to observe the manufacturing process of six TNI aircraft designated for use by the Ministry of Defense and TNI.
Amperiawan stated that in addition to fulfilling orders for TNI defense equipment, PTDI is collaborating with start-up companies, such as PT Vela Prima Nusantara (Vela) and PT Intercrus Aero Indonesia (Intercrus), to develop future transportation modes, specifically e-VTOL aircraft based on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
Such cooperation is part of PTDI’s initiative to strengthen the capabilities of the national defense industry.
Amperiawan remarked that Minister Sjamsoeddin praised the collaboration.
"Defense minister’s visit to PTDI is expected to be a momentum to strengthen the synergy between the government and the defense industry in realizing Indonesia's defense independence," he noted.
