"This program is a priority of the Ministry of Cooperatives, in accordance with the mandate of the President (Prabowo Subianto), as an important instrument to help the government achieve food self-sufficiency," he added here on Friday.
KUD revitalization is one of the 12 priority programs of the Ministry of Cooperatives in 2025 to support President Prabowo's Asta Cita missions.
Juliantono explained that in the initial stage, his ministry is inventorying KUD assets, such as offices and warehouses. After the process is complete, the ministry will develop the business sector.
"One thing that is possible is that we will equip them with dryers so as to reduce the water content in the harvested dried paddy so that they can be absorbed by Bulog (state logistics company)," he said.
In addition, his ministry will also involve the East Java provincial government for transforming fertilizer distribution through farmer groups.
"Insha Allah (God willing), in the near future, there will be a presidential regulation that will regulate the scheme of fertilizer distribution to farmer groups with cooperative business units," he informed.
President director of the Cooperative, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB-KUMKM), Supomo, affirmed full support for the KUD revitalization carried out by the Ministry of Cooperatives.
The LPDB-KUMKM will lend development support from the business side, while the Ministry of Cooperatives will support the institutional system of KUD.
Supomo said that the two aspects must be strengthened at the same time.
