Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (ANTARA) - Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti emphasized the profound impact of regular morning exercise on student learning.

He asserted that such exercise, even simple movements like swaying arms and legs, can significantly enhance student enthusiasm and ultimately contribute to a more intelligent younger generation.

"Intense workouts are not necessary," Mu'ti remarked during the Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics event on Sunday, adding that gentle movements are sufficient to stimulate the mind and body.

He encouraged students to incorporate light exercise into their daily routines, whether before school or in the morning.

This, he explained, improves muscle flexibility and promotes healthy blood circulation. Enhanced blood flow to the brain creates an optimal environment for learning.

"Poor circulation can lead to drowsiness and a lack of motivation," he cautioned. "However, simple exercises like head tilts and gentle stretches can significantly boost energy levels and cognitive function."

Mu'ti further emphasized the crucial role of nutrition in supporting learning.

"A healthy diet is essential for overall well-being and robust growth," he stated.

"Children should prioritize whole, natural foods and develop a lifelong habit of nourishing their bodies."

He cautioned against the detrimental effects of excessive consumption of processed foods, which often lack essential nutrients.

"Prioritizing natural foods provides the necessary vitamins, proteins, and calories for optimal brain function and overall health," he advised.
