Fauzi made the statement in connection with President Prabowo Subianto's upcoming launch of the Free Medical Check-up program in February this year.
"Once a woman or a mother in a family has become aware of the importance of health, she will encourage her family members to undergo a health screening," the minister noted in her office's release cited here on Tuesday.
Fauzi highlighted that the medical screening program is a crucial initiative that is expected to support people in leading healthier lives.
"We need to assure the public that the Free Medical Check-up program is needed. It is vital that people understand that a medical check-up enables them to detect noncommunicable diseases and maintain their health," she emphasized.
To this end, the minister stressed the need to disseminate information on the program to members of the public, especially women, starting from the grassroots level.
Fauzi assessed that the health program would also help broaden access to health services for women, especially those experiencing economic limitations and gender discrimination.
She affirmed that the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection is prepared to work hand in hand with all ministries and agencies to raise citizens' awareness of the significance of medical screenings.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Pratikno, underlined that the Free Medical Check-up program serves as one of the quick win measures devised by President Prabowo's administration.
"We must work in synergy to oversee the Free Medical Check-up program, ensuring that it proceeds smoothly. I would like to ask all ministries and agencies to support this program and make it beneficial," he stated.
