Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei exchanged views on viable ways of enhancing the economic partnership between their countries.

As cited from a post shared on her Instagram handle @smindrawati in Jakarta on Friday, the Indonesian state treasurer received the Emirati envoy at her office on Thursday (January 30) afternoon.

The two ministers made the most of their bilateral meeting to explore cooperation across various sectors, including defense, education digitization, sustainable finance, energy, and infrastructure.

Indrawati emphasized that partnerships in these sectors are key to stimulating economic growth and slashing the unemployment rate in Indonesia.

"These partnerships align with President Prabowo Subianto's vision of Indonesia's development, which places emphasis on energy security, improvements in human resources' quality, and fortification of the defense and security sectors," she highlighted.

She expressed optimism that Indonesia and the UAE could further enhance their already strong cooperation.

On the same day, the minister also received a visit from the Vice President of the World Bank for East Asia and the Pacific, Manuela V. Ferro.

During the meeting, Indrawati suggested updating the Indonesia Country Partnership Framework (CPF).

"The CPF serves as a crucial instrument for aligning the main development visions and objectives of the World Bank and its member states," she affirmed.

Indrawati also told Ferro that an updated version of the CPF is expected to facilitate Indonesia and the World Bank to weather geopolitical dynamics, domestic political situations, and socio-economic issues.

"Most importantly, we need to ensure that a huge democracy like Indonesia can achieve continued progress, aligning with the inclusiveness and participation principles to deliver various development goals," she stated.
