"We are still searching for four victims," Muhammad Hariyadi, head of the Mataram SAR Office, informed in Mataram city, NTB, on Friday.
He said that the SAR team has been conducting a comprehensive search in all possible directions and points of interest, including rivers and the sea, to locate the four residents who were swept away by the heavy rain-induced flash floods.
He informed that the joint team discovered the body of one unidentified female victim off the coast of Long Pink Beach on Padar Island, West Manggarai district, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, on Thursday morning.
The team, which included police officers, Navy personnel, and local government officials, evacuated the body to a hospital in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT, for further handling.
Based on a fingerprint examination, the victim was identified as Juliani, 32, a resident of Nanga Wera village, Bima, the Mataram SAR head said.
"Juliani was found 44 nautical miles northwest of the flood-hit area," he disclosed.
He added that the authorities transported Juliani's body on a speedboat at 6 a.m. local time on Friday to Oi Tui Port in Bima district. Her family received her body around 8 a.m.
Three other victims were found dead earlier as per data released by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on Monday.
The following day, the BNPB revealed that the flash floods that lashed Bima had affected at least 860 residents from around 305 families.
Head of the BNPB's Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, informed that the government has begun delivering essential goods, including food, to the victims.
Meanwhile, the Bima district government has extended the hydrometeorological disaster emergency status by 14 days, effective from February 4, 2025.
