Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto, on Wednesday, welcomed the state visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java.

President Erdogan and his entourage arrived at the Bogor Palace at 11:25 a.m. local time and were welcomed by President Prabowo.

The two leaders immediately proceeded with the welcome ceremony, with the national anthems of the two countries played, accompanied by the 21-gun salute.

The Turkish president was welcomed by 75 personnel of the cavalry troops, marking the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-Turkey diplomatic relations.

While President Prabowo was seen in a dark grey suit, President Erdogan wore a dark blue suit for the occasion.

After the welcome ceremony, the two leaders conducted the troop inspection and introduced their respective delegates to each other.

Indonesian ministers present at the Bogor Palace included Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Community Development Muhaimin Iskandar, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Defense Minister Sjafrie Samsoeddin, and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.

President Prabowo and President Erdogan then proceeded for a joint photograph, with President Erdogan signing the state guestbook at the palace hall.

The two leaders then proceeded for a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by a bilateral meeting between two delegations to discuss strategic issues and to sign agreed-upon documents of cooperation.

After the meeting, the two heads of state are set to issue statements to the press.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accompanied by his spouse, Emine Erdogan, landed at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, Jakarta, on Tuesday (February 11) at around 6:30 p.m. local time.

The welcome ceremony proceeded smoothly despite heavy rain in the Indonesian capital city.

The two leaders then greeted each other with a handshake. Under the cover of two umbrellas, Prabowo, Erdogan, and the First Lady walked past the honor guards and entered a designated official car, where the Indonesian leader sat next to the Turkish president.
