Speaking at his office in Jakarta on Friday, Tanjung informed that the projects have been made available by the recently established task force for the acceleration of downstreaming and national energy security, chaired by ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
He said that the government will offer the projects to potential investors to accelerate the downstreaming of natural resources and solidify Indonesia's energy security, as mandated by President Prabowo Subianto in his Asta Cita missions.
"The projects we have prepared focus on efforts to downstream raw materials such as minerals, coal, oil, and natural gas," he added.
Tanjung further said that the government has also prepared projects in the agriculture sector, particularly focusing on the downstreaming of oleochemicals, which are products derived from oils and fats of vegetables and animals.
The deputy minister expressed the hope that the government will soon attract the investments needed for national downstreaming efforts through the 35 projects.
President Prabowo officially established the task force for the acceleration of downstreaming and national energy security, which comprises several ministers, the attorney general, and the chief of the National Police (Polri).
According to Presidential Decree No. 1 of 2025, the task force has been tasked with fast-tracking downstreaming efforts across various sectors while strengthening Indonesia's energy security.
The decree, signed by the President on January 3, 2025, specifies that the government prioritize the downstreaming of minerals, coal, oil, natural gas, agricultural products, forestry goods, and fishery commodities to raise their selling value.
