Sidoarjo, East Java (ANTARA) - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has assured that the budget efficiency policy will not affect the continuity of the Free Health Check-up (CKG) Program considering that it is a government priority program in the health sector.

"This program is targeting 100 million participants. We are focusing on achieving at least 50 percent first. If the funds are unmatched, the ministry will coordinate with the President and the Finance Ministry to increase the budget allocation," he said in Sidoarjo, East Java, on Friday.

He said that his ministry is currently focusing on uniform CKG activation, especially in areas outside Java, so that all people can benefit from the program.

The ministry will visit health centers and CKG health facilities outside Java to ensure the target of 100 million participants nationwide is achieved this year.

According to the circular issued by the Ministry of Finance, budget efficiency will only involve restrictions on operational costs, operational costs of office support facilities and infrastructure, official vehicles, and official travel expenses.

The circular regarding operational cost restrictions explains that general medical checks for Health Ministry employees will be eliminated and each individual will get to access general medical check-ups through the CKG program.

From July 2025, the government will gradually roll out the CKG program for all groups, including students.

Based on the Health Ministry's website, the program will be implemented in stages, focusing on three targets, namely birthday CKG, school CKG, and special CKG for pregnant women and toddlers.

Birthday CKG will allow eligible participants—children aged 0–6 years and people aged 18 years and over—to access free health checks on their birthday. The health check will be carried out at health centers and clinics in collaboration with the government.
