Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has directed all elected regional leaders supported by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus to prioritize repairing damaged or unusable school buildings. He advised them against allocating the state budget to programs lacking clear public benefits.

"The people need help. They need fertilizer. They need seeds. Schools need repairs. There is no need for more seminars," Prabowo said during a meeting on Friday.

He noted that approximately 330,000 schools across Indonesia require attention from the elected regional leaders once they assume office.

"It is better for governors to use the funds to repair schools! We have 330,000 schools (waiting to be repaired)," Prabowo emphasized.

In separate remarks, several elected KIM Plus regional leaders present at the meeting said the president provided significant guidance on budget efficiency.

West Nusa Tenggara Governor-elect Lalu M. Iqbal stated that efficiency is the president's strategy for optimizing budget use to ensure effective development programs.

As chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo invited KIM Plus party leaders and all elected regional leaders backed by the coalition to a meeting at his residence on Friday afternoon.

KIM Plus is a coalition of parties supporting the government, including those that endorsed Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election, as well as parties that initially opposed but later declared their support for the new administration.

The coalition consists of 10 political parties, including Gerindra, Golkar, the Democratic Party, and PAN.
