During the Coordination Meeting and Training of Government Public Relations 2025 in Jakarta on Wednesday, she pointed out that social media is one of the most accessible platforms for obtaining information for citizens.
The minister then highlighted the risk of idle or abandoned social media accounts and websites of government institutions being hacked by irresponsible parties for negative purposes, such as promoting online gambling.
"Note that online gambling operators have been targeting government websites," she said.
For this reason, Hafid urged the public relations bureaus of government bodies to properly operate and maintain their digital platforms to provide the public with updated information.
"Therefore, I would like to ask you to optimally manage communication assets belonging to ministries, other institutions, agencies, and regional governments to avoid negative outcomes," she told the participating government public relations officers.
She also urged the officers to be more receptive and responsive to the aspirations and expectations voiced by members of the public, including their criticisms of government policies.
President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his aides in the government to heed feedback from the people, she added.
According to Hafid, the head of state has been paying close attention to the real issues highlighted by the public.
Furthermore, the minister urged government public relations bureaus to work in a creative and innovative manner in executing their duties and functions.
In this context, she underlined the need for government institutions to publish engaging informational content.
