"We are not stockpiling. Currently, we can produce approximately 15 units daily, with the number expected to hike to 30, 40, or even 50 once we reach our optimal production capacity," he remarked at the Husein Sastranegara Air Base in Bandung City, West Java, on Saturday.
Santosa made this statement after attending the handover of 700 units of the Maung MV3 Garuda to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri).
Santosa pointed out that his company would coordinate with various ministries to determine the actual number of tactical vehicles needed.
He then expressed optimism that his side is capable of mass-producing the national vehicles at its optimal production capacity.
Furthermore, the president director highlighted that PT Pindad is currently working to fulfill a contract agreed upon with the government on the procurement of 4,100 Maung units for the TNI and the Polri.
He said that PT Pindad will have manufactured 2,800 of the demanded tactical vehicles by September of this year.
On the same occasion, Defense Minister's Special Staff for Social and Public Communication Deddy Corbuzier underlined that the public would be able to purchase Maung MV3 Garuda.
He also spoke highly of the national tactical vehicle, praising it for its sound level of resilience and endurance.
"Several days ago, I paid a visit to PT Pindad. I have reviewed the Maung vehicle it produces, taking it on a test drive while assessing its toughness," he told the media at the air base.
