Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) announced this on Saturday.
He said his ministry has coordinated with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform regarding the implementation of the flexible work arrangement (FWA).
AHY said the policy is expected to help manage community mobility during the Eid homecoming season.
To ensure a smooth homecoming flow, the government has taken several measures to reduce congestion.
AHY said that, in addition to FWA, school schedules will be adjusted to optimize homecoming traffic distribution.
The government has also asked local airlines to lower domestic airfares and state-run toll road operators to reduce toll rates during the period.
"This is part of the government's effort to ensure that people's travel during Ramadan and the Eid homecoming season is safe, comfortable, affordable, and enjoyable," he remarked.
