Speaking on the sidelines of Kadin Indonesia’s management inauguration here on Friday, Bakrie emphasized that these 100 kitchens, which will supply food for the free meals program, will be built before August 17, 2025, as part of Kadin Indonesia’s Quick Win initiatives.
"We have discussed this with the head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, who has expressed openness to collaboration," he stated.
According to Bakrie, the government has increased the number of SPPGs from 11 thousand units to 30 thousand.
He expressed hope that business players would take part in supplying ingredients for the free meals program.
"We have met with the Minister of Agriculture, and we are open to participating in providing eight essential commodities needed for the program, aside from corn and rice," he noted.
As part of its Quick Win programs, Kadin Indonesia will also focus on three other government priority initiatives, such as Free Health Screening, affordable and decent housing development, and a migrant worker program aimed at meeting the demand for skilled labor.
The Indonesian government officially launched the free nutritious meals program on January 6, 2025, as one of the flagship initiatives of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka for their 2024–2029 term.
Through this program, the government aims to improve the nutritional intake of children under five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and schoolchildren up to high school age.
