He made the request during a coordination meeting, held in a hybrid online-offline format, at the Sasana Bhakti Praja Building of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta on Monday.
He emphasized that the success of the health screening program in the regions will rely highly on several key factors, such as clear instructions from regional heads so that prompt action can be taken.
"There are funds that can be accessed, allocated, be it BOK (healthy operational assistance) and physical and non-physical DAK (special allocation funds)," the deputy minister added in a statement.
He also asked regional governments to accelerate the development of three million affordable houses, saying that in implementing the program, regional governments will need to identify the availability of lands for establishing the housing.
Regional governments will also need to allocate funds, be it from the regional budget or through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme, for the program.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that free health screening is a flagship program of President Prabowo Subianto, which was launched on February 10, 2025, and is targeted to reach all levels of society. It covers all age groups, ranging from newborns to older adults.
He explained that the screening services are being provided under two schemes: on people's birthdays at community health centers (puskesmas) and in schools for school-age children.
For the program to run effectively, he asked regional heads to provide directions to related regional government organizations and involve village heads and cadres at integrated health posts.
Meanwhile, director general of urban housing at the Ministry of Housing and Settlement, Sri Haryati, said that the program for developing three million homes per year is part of the Asta Cita missions of President Prabowo.
The successful implementation of the program is expected to boost state and regional revenues and spur growth in various sectors.
