Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's National Alms Agency (Baznas) has distributed 50 thousand packages of aid items to mustahik or Zakat recipients in 38 provinces across the country under the Joyful Ramadan program.

Baznas' Head of Distribution and Utilization Saidah Sakwan noted in a press statement here Sunday that this program is a testament to the agency's commitment to ensuring that the philanthropic funds it collects are accurately and optimally delivered to those in need.

"We acknowledge that Ramadan may be perceived as a month full of challenges by several Indonesian Muslims who are struggling to meet their daily needs. Hence, Baznas moved to provide assistance, ensuring that they can immerse themselves in the joy brought by this holy month," she said.

In addition to easing the burden of its beneficiaries, the Joyful Ramadan program is also intended to solidify the sense of solidarity and brotherhood among Muslims in Indonesia.

"We aim to create a more inclusive Ramadan where every single Muslim can feel joy and blessings in their worship," she stated.

Sakwan then appreciated all donors and stakeholders for their part in making the program possible.

"I want to thank all volunteers, partners, and officers for their hard work in distributing these Ramadan packages. Without this form of support and collaboration, this program would not run smoothly," she remarked.

She also appealed to the public to continue making contributions to the nation by taking part in programs arranged by Baznas.

"Let us make this year's Ramadan a moment to intensify good deeds, strengthen social awareness, and continue working towards a fairer and more prosperous life for all," she told the people.
