“The ministry wants to ensure that superior human resources in the energy sector can grow and that research and innovation can be directed to support the energy industry that is currently developing,” Yuliarto noted in a statement here on Wednesday.
He stated that the ministry is keen on developing research within campuses to truly support national energy targets.
He affirmed that the ministry intends to collaborate with multiple entities to ensure the research focus on campuses is both relevant and impactful.
In this effort, the ministry's Director General of Research and Development, Fauzan Adziman, emphasized the importance of public communication in promoting national energy policies.
“Public communication must be designed strategically and structured to effectively convey energy policy directions that are appropriate to the characteristics of communities in each region,” he stated.
Adziman highlighted the importance of energy narratives that are sensible, relevant, and easy to understand.
In response to this, Dinna Nurul Fitria, a representative from the National Energy Council (DEN), reported on the progress of the Draft Presidential Regulation on National Energy Policy (RPP KEN), noting that it now includes provisions related to nuclear energy.
Fitria expressed hope that the Higher Education Ministry's involvement in the preparation of the National Energy General Plan (RUEN) and cross-sector collaborations can be further enhanced.
“The RPP KEN has received initial approval from Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and is currently in the process of adjustment with Astacita (President Prabowo Subianto's goals) and with the eight-percent economic growth goal,” Fitria stated.
