During a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Bogor, West Java, on Saturday, National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Head Dadan Hindayana reported on the program’s progress.
Hindayana said the program has reached around 3.3 million beneficiaries nationwide since its launch in January, achieving the target set for its initial phase.
He noted that the next goal is to increase the program’s reach to over 4 million recipients by opening new kitchens throughout May.
“We are striving to bring this program to 6 million beneficiaries by the end of May or early June,” Hindayana said.
He praised the involvement of Indonesian Development Pioneer Scholars (SPPI), stating that once their training is complete, they will help expand the program’s reach to at least 20 million beneficiaries by August.
Hindayana also said that President Prabowo has urged the BGN to prioritize thoroughness and precision in implementing the program, emphasizing its role as a strategic investment in the nation’s human capital.
“The President urged us to continue working diligently and accurately, as this program represents a long-term investment in our future human resources—an initiative that may face challenges along the way,” he said.
