"There are a number of concepts that have been circulating so far, including those that are always updated by the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of National Development Planning," AHY informed here on Friday.
"Let's sit together to harmonize the initial designs, including concepts that have been developed so far," he added.
According to AHY, there is an urgent need to construct the giant sea wall to address the increase in sea levels in the coastal areas on the north coast of Java, including in the northern part of Jakarta, which is experiencing land subsidence.
He emphasized that more sustainable strategies are needed to protect coastal communities.
"We see all the coastal embankments today that are predicted to be insufficient in the next 10–20 years. There must be more strategic steps, which are more sustainable so that we can protect coastal communities," he said.
Efforts to harmonize the initial designs and concepts related to the giant sea wall will be carried out while ensuring budgeting/financing sources.

"We must be right on target and (costs) must be calculated properly. We have a lot we want to do, but we must ensure where the budgeting or financing sources come from. This is where we must be active and proactive," AHY said.
He has been meeting with potential investors, both local and foreign, and sharing details of the priority infrastructure developments planned in the next five years.
The giant sea wall is a long-term development project that will span several locations on the north coast of Java, stretching from Banten, Jakarta, Kudus, Kendal, and Semarang to the East Java region.
In the initial phase, the government will build the sea wall in the northern coastal areas of Jakarta, Banten, and Bekasi. The budget for phase one of the construction is estimated to reach Rp123 trillion (US$7.4 billion) in the next eight years.
The project is a continuation of previously prepared plans involving the Ministry of Public Works, as well as the Netherlands and South Korea, in carrying out a study on the construction of the giant sea wall, which is projected to span 946 kilometers in length.
