Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WIKA Beton), in collaboration with Rumah Belajar BEM Universitas Indonesia (Rumbel UI), organized an inspiring Sharing Session for young students on Saturday (May 17). The event, attended by approximately 180 elementary and junior high school students, was held at the Student Activity Center Auditorium (Pusgiwa), University of Indonesia, Depok. This initiative is part of WIKA Beton’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) program in the field of education.
Titled “WIKA Beton Builds the Future,” the session featured WIKA Beton’s Director of Finance, Human Capital, and Risk Management, Syailendra Ogan, as the keynote speaker. He shared his personal story of perseverance—from his school days to his journey towards becoming a member of the board of directors. With a warm and interactive approach, he encouraged the children to dream big and believe that a brighter future can be achieved through hard work and a strong desire to learn.
“Through this activity, we want to show that with discipline and the right support, every dream is achievable,” said Syailendra Ogan. He also emphasized the importance of gratitude and resilience as key values for overcoming life’s challenges.
In addition to the motivational talk, the event featured various educational activities such as interactive quizzes and group games conducted by volunteers from both WIKA Beton and Rumbel UI. The enthusiastic and lively atmosphere throughout the event reflected the significance of such programs in building students’ confidence and motivation to learn.
As a concrete manifestation of its commitment to improving access to education, WIKA Beton also provided financial assistance to Rumbel UI. The funds will support Rumbel UI’s teaching and learning programs for the coming year.
“This collaboration is a reflection of synergy between industry and academia to address educational challenges in society,” said Yushadi, Corporate Secretary of WIKA Beton, during his speech. “We believe that education is the key to creating a superior, adaptive, and competitive generation for the future.”
This program aligns with WIKA Beton’s commitment to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through sustainable initiatives, WIKA Beton strives to be a company that excels not only in business but also in delivering social impact to the community.
With this initiative, WIKA Beton hopes to continue contributing to cross-sector collaboration for the advancement of education in Indonesia, helping shape a competitive and empowered young generation as the nation's future leaders.
