The two met in Jakarta on Thursday (May 22) to discuss the potential for economic cooperation, especially in the field of trade.
Thus, Sugiono encouraged business actors of both countries to explore opportunities to expand market access for Indonesian products in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Trade between Indonesia and Bosnia and Herzegovina has continued to grow post-COVID-19, with the value of bilateral trade in 2024 reaching US$12.8 million, according to a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Beyond economic cooperation, Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Limo also discussed various aspects of bilateral relations that have been well-established so far.
Regarding defense cooperation, the two discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina's planned participation in the Indo Defence Expo & Forum scheduled for June 11-14 in Jakarta.
Both parties recognized that the exhibition could serve as a platform to further explore opportunities for military-technical and defense collaboration between Indonesia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Limo also addressed efforts to tackle global issues of mutual concern through multilateral forums, as well as consular cooperation to intensify relations between people of the two countries.
In terms of cultural cooperation, Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed support for Indonesia's efforts to register Jepara carving as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, following the Balkan nation's success in championing the Konjic carving art to become a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage in 2017.
In the field of education, the University of Indonesia (UI) is committed to continuing cooperation with campuses in Bosnia and Herzegovina through student exchange programs and expanding collaboration in other fields as well.
